Certified Hand Therapist
Upon graduation from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND, Dan completed a professional residency program at the Orthopedic Center of Excellence in Bismarck, ND. Because Dan understood that people use their hands everyday for work, recreational activities and caring for loved ones, he chose to complete the necessary requirements to become the first Certified Hand Therapist in the Gillette area.
In order to become a Certified Hand Therapist, Dan had to acquire at least five years of clinical experience with over 4,000 hours of specialty experience in hand therapy. It was also required that he pass a comprehensive test of advanced knowledge in all areas of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are over 108,800 Occupational Therapists in the United States, while only 5,676 are Certified Hand Therapists.
